Distributed Energy Summit set for July ’21

MSL is again developing and producing the second annual Virtual Distributed Energy Summit for the NM EPSCoR SMART Grid Center, hosted by Santa Fe Community College’s Smart and Microgrid Training Center.  This year’s event will take place on July 29 and 30, 2021 and its theme takes a holistic view of all the recent relevant activity in our state, under the rubric of:
Distributed Energy Summit ’21:
Economy | Technology | Workforce

The community of interest will gather virtually to learn about the many exciting efforts and initiatives under way in these three areas, and how all institutions and New Mexicans can benefit.  Segments will include:

  • NM’s Clean Energy Economy – Systems & Strategy with Secretary of the NM Economic Development Department Alicia Keyes, the Santa Fe Institute, the UNM Bureau of Business and Economic Research, the Roosevelt Project, and the NMSU i-CREW initiative
  • NM’s Advanced Energy Technology – Tactics & Innovation with Secretary of the NM Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department Sarah Cottrell Propst, Public Service Company of NM (PNM), El Paso Electric Company, Kit Carson Electric Cooperative, and founders/CEOs of NM energy tech startups.
  • NM’s New Energy Workforce – Skills & Training with the SFCC Smart and Microgrid Training Center, and advanced energy programs at Northern NM College and San Juan College.

The Summit is presented by Santa Fe Community College’s Smart and Microgrid Training Center, co-founded by MSL, and is supported by the NM SMART Grid Center, an NSF-funded project of NM EPSCoR in which MSL is a primary partner.
